The BEST Non Alcoholic Aperol Spritz Recipe:

  • It has 2 EASY versions which is great for everyone to make. One uses non alcoholic spirits and the other uses a combination of juices and tonic water.
  • Only 4 ingredients, 6 if you want to include the orange and thyme garnishes.
  • CLASSIC Aperol Spritz flavors without the booze. No hangovers, no fuzziness, and great for everyone to enjoy!

What Is An Aperol Spritz?

An Aperol Spritz is a classic Italian drink that is super popular during the spring and summer months. There are a lot of different options and variations but, they are always citrusy and slightly bitter with a bubbly sensation.

To break it down, the word spritz refers to the use of champagne (prosecco, brut, etc.), tonic water, club soda, or mineral water in a drink. While Aperol is a specific type of liqueur that is on the dry side with bitter notes of orange and herbs.

Non Alcoholic Aperol Spritz Mocktail Ingredients

I know Non Alcoholic (NA) Spirits are not always easy to find which makes them intimidating. This is why I tell you what NA spirits I prefer to use and an option to ditch the NA spirits all together. Both versions of this NA Aperol Spritz Mocktail are super tasty, just use what works best for you.

Option #1- Aperol Spritz Mocktail With Non Alcoholic Spirits

This will give you the closest flavor profile and sensations to a traditional alcoholic Aperol Spritz, without using any alcoholic. If you LOVE an Aperol Spritz, I recommend you splurge on these ingredients. You will not regret it.

  • Non Alcoholic Aperol: I use Italian Spritz from Lyre’s. It is specifically created to mimic the rich citrus and herbal flavors of Aperol. Other brands include Crodino, Wilfred’s, Everleaf, Figlia, and Ghia.
  • Non Alcoholic Champagne: I use Fre Non Alcoholic Sparkling Brut (Brut refers to the sweetness level of the NA champagne. It is dryer than a Prosecco.). Other brands are Lyre’s, Surely, Gruvi, Joyus, Noughty.
  • Non Alcoholic Bitters: All The Bitter is my go to (get 10% off by using my code ENTIRELY10). I prefer the New Orleans Bitters but the Orange Bitters and Aromatic Bitters taste great in this too. Other non alcoholic bitters options include Sanbitter Rosso, Dram, For Bitter For Worse, and Flora.
  • Mineral Water: I prefer to use San Pellegrino. Club soda or tonic water can be used in it’s place.
  • Orange Slice: Be sure to wash the orange thoroughly before cutting and garnishing your NA Aperol Spritz Mocktail.
  • Thyme: This is nothing more than a cute garnish for hosting. Feel free to omit.

Option #2- Aperol Spritz Mocktail Without Non Alcoholic Spirits

This has the easiest ingredients while giving you all the citrusy flavor you are looking for. It is more on the side of a juice drink and not as bubbly and light as the NA spirits option above.

  • Orange Juice: This also replaces the Aperol. Any orange juice will work, just go for pulp free and the least amount of added sugar possible. Hand squeezed orange juice taste the best in my opinion.
  • Grapefruit Juice: This replaces the Aperol. Any grapefruit juice will work, just go for pulp free and the least amount of added sugar possible. Hand squeezed grapefruit juice tastes the best in my opinion.
  • Cherry Juice: This is to replace the bitters. Be sure you are using 100% juice without added sugar.
  • Mineral Water: This replaces the champagne. See note above.
  • Orange Slice: See note above.
  • Thyme: See note above.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ’s)

Is there a non-alcoholic version of Aperol?

Lyre’s Italian Spritz is the closest option for non-alcoholic Aperol. But, just like any other alcohol, Aperol cannot be replicated exactly into a non-alcoholic version. We can come extremely close to it’s flavors by using non alcoholic spirits or a combination of fruit juices.

What type of glass is an Aperol Spritz served in?

Aperol Spritzes are typically served in a stemmed or stemless wine glasses.

Where can I buy non alcoholic spirits?

Non Alcoholic Spirits have become increasingly popular, but I know it is not always possible to find them especially last minute. They can be ordered on Amazon, or other online outlets, found at your local CVS stores (it is one of the few places that has NA options), at your local grocery store, and even in some liquor stores.
