Resident Evil 2 (2019)is a remake of the 1998 video game Resident Evil 2. It’s asurvival horrorgame that allows players to control Claire Redfield, a college student and Leon S. Kennedy, a rookie police officer as they try to escape from the zombie-infested Raccoon City. Since Claire and Leon have separate playable campaigns, players can see the story from the perspective of both characters.

Claire and Leon have to work together to find out the reason for the attack on the city and to survive. The fate of these characters is in the hands of the player. Unlike the original Resident Evil 2 that uses fixed camera angles and tank controls, the 2019 version of the game implements over-the-shoulder 3rd-person shooter gameplay.

Players can save as frequently as they want inside safe rooms due to the remake’s standard difficulty mode. If they prefer “Hardcore” difficulty, they have to gather and use a limited amount of ink ribbons to save the progress of the game. Players can also go through the main story with either Claire or Leon.

Depending on their choice, they will experience the main story with differences in obtainable items, subplots, and accessible areas. If they beat the main story for the first time, a variation of the story called 2nd Run will be unlocked. This variation allows them to play the game as the other character.

It also adds more content to make it look like the second playthrough, and the first playthrough is taking place simultaneously. For instance, the character in the 2nd Run will find several doors of the police station already unlocked by the character from the first playthrough.
